Clarinet Choir: A profile

Updated: Oct 30, 2024

Clarinet Choir is tailored for advanced clarinettists from grade 4 to grade 8+, offering a platform to deepen their musical skills. Led by a clarinet specialist, members engage with a diverse repertoire that explores the full capabilities of the instrument.

The inclusion of various sizes of clarinets—such as Eb, alto, bass, and contra-bass—enhances the ensemble's sound and allows players to experiment with different tonal qualities. Small group playing fosters collaboration and individual skill development, refining technique while contributing to the overall blend of the group.

Clarinet Choir runs on Saturday mornings, 10.45am-12.15pm, at Brookfield Community School

In addition to educational benefits, Clarinet Choir emphasizes performance, regularly showcasing its talents in external concerts. These performances build confidence and provide essential real-world experience as members share their passion for music with wider audiences. Performing in diverse venues fosters community connections and prepares players for future musical endeavors.

The supportive environment encourages camaraderie, inspiring members to grow together while tackling challenging pieces and collaborating in small ensembles.
