🎉 New Home — Permanent return to Outwood Academy Newbold!

Yesterday was a huge milestone — our Music Centre is officially BACK at Outwood Academy Newbold! After outgrowing our old venue, we’re absolutely thrilled to have found a new permanent home with more space to grow, make music, and build our community.

A Fantastic First Day 🎶

From the moment the doors opened, the energy was buzzing!Students arrived full of excitement, ensembles filled the building with wonderful music, and parents breathed a sigh of relief at the much easier parking situation — definitely a win all around!

It was so special to hear the sound of music floating through the new space. 🎺🎻🎶A huge thank you to everyone who supported us to make this move happen — it’s been a real team effort, and we couldn’t be more grateful! 🙏

More Room, More Opportunities 🎼

One of the most exciting parts about our new venue is the space. It’s going to allow us to expand in the future — offering even more instrumental lessons, new ensembles, and bigger events. We can’t wait to grow our musical family even further!

Plus, the acoustics in the new rooms are fantastic, and the layout works so much better for all the different groups we run.

Tuck Shop Gets an Upgrade 🍬

We know how important social time is to our Music Centre, and now our beloved Tuck Shop has its very own room! Students loved having a dedicated social space to hang out, refuel, and chat between rehearsals — it’s fast becoming the heart of our community time.

Meanwhile, staff, trustees, and volunteers celebrated the big day with some very special treats: homemade yellow-iced treble clef gingerbread biscuits — a sweet thank you for all their hard work!

Parking Success = Happy Parents 🚗

Another big win was hearing from parents how much easier parking is at Outwood Academy Newbold. As we all know, without our amazing “parent taxis,” we’d have a lot of empty chairs in our ensembles — so it’s fantastic to know that drop-offs and pick-ups are much smoother now. Thank you, parents!

This Is Just the Beginning ✨

Yesterday marked a new chapter for Chesterfield & North East Derbyshire Music Centre — and we couldn’t be more excited for the future. This new space will help us continue to nurture young musicians, build community spirit, and spread the joy of music even further across our region.
