Join Us for a Fun and Inclusive SEND Music Session – 3rd October 2026 🎶

Families are invited to a relaxed and welcoming music session for young people with complex needs/attend a special school, and their families. The session is a chance to make music, explore creativity and have fun together in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Whether your child already loves music or simply enjoys trying new experiences, the session has been planned to be flexible, accessible and enjoyable for everyone taking part.
📅 Date: 3rd October 2026, 10am-11am.
📍 Venue: Outwood Academy Newbold
👨👩👧👦 Who Can Attend: Young people with complex needs who attend a special school, plus their families, carers and siblings

🎵 A Relaxed and Supportive Musical Environment
The session will be led by experienced practitioners Charlotte Pinder and Helen Temple, who specialise in creating inclusive musical experiences that respond to the needs and interests of the young people taking part.
The atmosphere will be relaxed and welcoming, with families encouraged to join in and enjoy the music-making together.
🥁 What to Expect
The session will last approximately 40–45 minutes, including:
🎶 Around 30 minutes of small-group music-making
🎸 A special “Play with the Band” experience alongside the music centre folk ensemble
🪇 A range of instruments and soundmakers provided
🎵 No previous musical experience needed

The venue has been chosen with accessibility and comfort in mind, including:
