Join Us for a Fun and Inclusive SEND Music Experience This October 🎶

Families are invited to a welcoming and interactive music session designed especially for young people with SEND aged 8–18. This free event promises an engaging session of music-making, creativity, and connection for young people and their families.

Whether your child already loves music or simply enjoys exploring new experiences in a supportive environment, this session has been carefully planned to be flexible, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone involved.

🎵 A Relaxed and Supportive Musical Environment


The session will be led by experienced practitioners Charlotte Pinder and Helen Temple, who specialise in creating inclusive musical experiences that respond to the needs and interests of young people taking part.

The atmosphere will be relaxed and welcoming, with a room set up to support comfort and accessibility. Parents, carers, siblings, and families are all welcome to attend and take part in the experience.



🥁 What to Expect During the Session


The session will last approximately 40–45 minutes, including:

  • 🎶 Around 30 minutes of small-group music-making

  • 🎸 A special “Play with the Band” experience alongside the music centre folk ensemble.

  • 🪇 There is no need to bring instruments or musical equipment. All instruments and soundmakers will be provided free of charge. No previous musical experience is needed.

The event venue has been chosen with accessibility in mind, including:

  • ✅ No stairs

  • 🚻 Accessible toilets

Tea, coffee, and refreshments will be available for parents and carers during the session, creating an opportunity to relax, chat, and connect with other families.
