As the calendar year draws to a close, we are thrilled to reflect on the incredible journey of our first year making music together at CNEDMC. From community collaborations to festive celebrations, this year has been full of musical activity.
Highlights from Our Musical Adventures
A Year of Concerts
This year, we’ve had the joy of sharing our music far and wide through numerous performances:
Ashover May Day Celebrations: Our flute and clarinet choirs teamed up with Ashover Brass Band for a memorable community event.
Chesterfield Library Recital: The Chamber Orchestra and Folk Group delivered a captivating recital, showcasing their diverse talents.
Derbyshire County Orchestra Concert: Brass Fusion represented CNEDMC at the Buxton Octagon, a proud moment that recognized the hard work behind our new music centre.
Crooked Spire Christmas Tree Festival: Our flute and clarinet choirs added festive cheer, with our CNEDMC tree on display as part of the celebration.
Ashover Parish Hall Concert: Festival Band delighted a full house with a dynamic and heartfelt performance.
Community Spirit and Engagement
We’ve worked hard to build meaningful connections with the community. From inviting families to join us for warm drinks and homemade cakes, to participating in local events, we’ve demonstrated how music can bring people together.
New Initiatives and Growth
Launching New Groups
We’re proud to have launched a Guitar and Ukulele Group this year, expanding our offer and welcoming even more musicians into the fold.
Digital Transformation
Our new website and Instagram account have gone live, improving communication and helping us share the joy of music with a wider audience.
Welcoming New Members
One of the most exciting aspects of this year has been the many new starters who have joined us. It’s been wonderful to see our CNEDMC family grow!
Gala Performances
Our Summer and Christmas Gala Concerts were undoubtedly highlights of the year, with every group taking the stage to showcase their talent and hard work. These events captured the spirit of our centre, bringing together musicians, families, and friends in celebration of music.
Looking Ahead to 2025
As we close the chapter on this year, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has made it all possible - Trustees, Directors of Music, Ensemble Directors, families, musicians, community partners, and supporters. Your contributions have been invaluable.
We are eager to continue this journey in 2025, bringing joy through music-making and building on the strong foundation of our first year together. Here’s to another year of harmony, growth, and unforgettable moments!
