CNEDMC Clarinet & Flute Choirs Join Forces with Ashover Brass Band Saturday 3rd May – All Saints Church, Ashover

🌟 A Fantastic Joint Performance

Congratulations to our wonderful Flute and Clarinet Choirs on a fantastic performance, sharing the stage with the brilliant Ashover Brass Band! Set in the beautiful surroundings of All Saints Church, Ashover, the concert was a heartwarming showcase of musical talent and collaboration. The church’s stunning acoustic provided the perfect setting for this joyful community event, bringing together musicians of all ages and stages.

🎵 A Diverse and Uplifting Programme

The concert featured a varied and uplifting programme that delighted the audience from start to finish. Highlights included the classic "Let’s Do It, Let’s Fall in Love", performed with charm and style, and "Drifting", a beautiful original composition for flute choir by Kate Cuzner, which showcased the ensemble’s sensitivity and blend. The Ashover Brass Band brought great energy with their rendition of Taylor Swift’s "Love Story", which had toes tapping and smiles all around. The mix of contemporary and classic pieces created a vibrant and enjoyable musical experience for everyone in attendance.

🎼 A Showcase of Unique Instruments

It was a real treat to see and hear such a wide range of instruments on display. From the mellow tones of the bass flute and alto flute, to the brilliant sparkle of the piccolo, the flute choir brought colour and depth to every piece.

The clarinet choir also impressed, with the rich harmonies of the contra alto and bass clarinets complementing the bright voice of the tiny Eb clarinet – a true cherry on top!

🤝 A Wonderful Community Collaboration

This event was more than just a concert – it was a celebration of community spirit and a shared love of music. Performers, audience members, families, and friends all came together to enjoy an afternoon of creativity, connection, and musical joy.

👏 Huge well done to everyone involved – from the performers and conductors to the organisers and volunteers who made it happen. What a lovely afternoon of music-making!
